Needed Materials

Before you start, you need to have the following materials:

Step 1: The Wall and Height

Find a flat load bearing wall with limited glare from windows.
Place your TV at eye height, seating will determine perfect placement.
A general rule of thumb is that the centre point of the screen should be 42 – 48 inches off the floor.

Stanlee India’s Tip: If decision making is difficult and you are unsure where to put the TV, cut out a cardboard shape of your TV and tape it to the Align the television placement on the wall where it just seems natural and is the best for your viewing angle.

Step 2: Finding Wall Studs or Anchoring Points

If you are mounting your TV on a drywall, make sure you locate wall studs with a stud finder before drilling!
If you are mounting your TV on a concrete wall, use a stud finder or use masonry to locate solid sections of the wall.
Mark the wall studs or solid areas with a pencil so that you can clearly see them as reference points!
If you are using a drywall surface, do not drill into the hollow part of the wall without screws and anchors, you will damage your TV and the wall!

Step 3: Attach the Wall Bracket
With the bracket lined up with the studs, use a spirit level to level it up and mark where the drilling holes will need to be.

Then:

  1. Utilize a drill with the appropriate bit for your wall type and carefully drill the holes where you made markings.
  2. Insert wall plugs/anchors if necessary.
  3. Fit the bracket to the wall screws as securely as you can.

Safety First: Check EVERY screw. An unloaded bracket could be very dangerous.

Step 4: Fit the Mounting Plate to the TV
Most flat panel TVs have VESA mounting holes on the back.
With the mounting plate from your bracket kit lined up with the VESA mounting holes, bolt this to the back of the TV using the bolts that came with your bracket plate.
Be careful to not over-tighten these bolts as it is possible to damage the back of the TV.

Step 5: Secure the TV to the Bracket
At this time it is advisable to get a friend or another family member to help you—this is always better with a second set of hands
Take care while lifting the TV and line the mounting plate up with the wall bracket.
Most modern mounts will click into place, while other mounts may use screws to secure the TV into the mount.
Once you have attached your TV to the bracket, give it a gentle shake to confirm stability and ensure everything is secure.
